According to a recent report an increasing number of credit card companies in the UK are trying to attract customers by offering a range of incentives that even include free flights.
Vouchers and other incentives are also being offered, and this comes after two years of turbulence in the market where not only were many credit card firms refusing to offering incentives or cutting perks but were also turning down many people for credit cards.
In order to qualify for the high end incentives consumers simply have to spend a certain amount of cash on their credit cards and then repay the balance in full each month, which will entitle them to the freebie. Officials have said that once the cardholder has claimed the freebie he or she can then even cancel the card providing the balance is all paid up.
Some credit cards such as RyanAir, Flybe, BMI, and Lloyds TSB are offering free flights or destination miles that could fetch up to two free flights to a range of European destinations, although these are based on minimum expenditure before you can claim the reward.
Other cards, such as those available from Amazon and Play.com are offering vouchers that can be spent on the sites, again based on meeting the expenditure requirements where applicable.
With credit card firms now keen to regain custom and the market becoming more competitive it is advisable for all consumers to ensure that they compare the various offers that come with different credit cards, but also check out what the eligibility requirements and required spending levels are so that they can get the best deal possible when it comes to credit card incentives.
