"Amazon Launch New Credit Card"

By admin | October 21st, 2009 | Credit Cards

The popular retail website Amazon has recently launched a new credit card facility, which will come with a number of benefits for new users to enjoy.

With credit card restrictions still in place as a result of the global credit crunch the new card from Amazon will give consumers a little more choice when it comes to finding a credit card.

Consumers that use the card can also look forward to a range of perks that could help them to save money on interest as well as on the purchases that they make through Amazon.

The Amazon credit card offers an interest free period of nine months on new purchases that are made on the card, allowing consumers to buy what they want and avoid paying interest for a generous period of time.

For those that want to transfer a balance onto the Amazon credit card there is a twelve month interest free period available, which means that consumers can transfer for existing debts from higher interest credit cards onto the Amazon card and avoid paying further interest as long as they clear the transferred balance within the twelve month period.

Cardholders that use the credit card within one hundred and eighty days will be able to get £15 credit from Amazon, and the card also offers loyalty points to spend on the site as well, so those that use the card regularly could quickly build up points to put towards purchases made on the website. This could come in particularly useful given that Christmas is coming up and many people will be looking to spread the cost and save money on what they buy.

One credit card expert stated: “The £15 free credit will appeal to consumers in the run up to Christmas and is a clever ploy. If you shop regularly at Amazon the 1% reward rate is generous, compared to most credit cards. Cards with rewards or cashback are only worth it if you always pay your balance in full every month.”
