"Facility introduced to help reduce affecting credit score when looking for credit card"

These days many people may be looking to get their hands on a low rate credit card, particularly given the increased reliance of consumers on credit cards in the current financial climate.

However, over the past eighteen months lenders have become far more restrictive when it comes to giving out credit cards, and are far fussier with regards to which customers and applicants they will give out credit cards to, which has made things difficult for many people.

Compared to just two years ago getting a credit card can be far more difficult these days. In the past many people may have been pretty sure of being able to get a credit card, but these days most people are unsure as to whether they will qualify.

For those that decide to take the risk and apply for a credit card the downside can be that if the application is refused this can leave a black mark on the applicant’s credit file, and this can decrease the credit score and make things even more difficult in the future with regards to finances.

However, one popular price comparison site has now launched a facility that will enable consumers to check their chances of being accepted for major credit cards without having any effect on their credit rating, which means that consumers will not have to risk their credit score in order to see whether they are likely to be accepted for some of the leading credit cards.

The credit card checking facility has been launched by the comparison site confused.com, and an official from the site said: ‘As rules around lending get more stringent, trying to switch credit cards can be a time-consuming and frustrating experience. The tools should give customers confidence that they’re applying for the right card and save them incurring unnecessary credit footprints.’
