Credit card companies make a HUGE income from people who do not pay their demands on time. These can range from £10 up to £30 then you still must add the interest payments to that for the next month!!!!
If you feel that the credit card company has been a little over zealous in charging you the late fee payment some will remove if you contact them and explain your case in a POLITE and COURTEOUS manner. Remember this is part of almost all credit card agreements so you must be aware of the charges.
There is an easy an foolproof way of stopping this from occurring. Simply pay the minimum balance each month by direct debit and if you want to pay that little bit extra the do so. However, please be sure that you always have enough cash in your bank account to do this otherwise the charges will be from your bank for exceeding your overdraft.
There are many other charges that should also be known before entering a credit card contract. You would be wise to check the charges for your particular credit card before you are charged! It may make you want to switch to another company….
