"Credit Card Protection"

By admin | January 23rd, 2008 | Credit Cards

ome credit card companies will offer you a period of time where the goods that you have bought will be ‘protected’. This means that should you suffer theft of these goods , damage or even lose them the credit card company may replace them through the cover in your credit card’s insurance plan. It is advisable that you check with the credit card company to find out exactly what is covered and what is not.

Making a purchase with your credit card against the goods that you have bought will also act in your favour in trying to resolve any disputes with the company in question. Many credit card companies will act in your behalf if they believe that you have been a victim in such circumstances.

For example, if you bought goods in a store and wished to return them for a full refund and the store refused then your credit card company may be able to help. Some credit card companies deliver more benefits to their customers such as refunds when the store in question will not pay out. Remember that stores in the UK do not have to give refunds on goods unless the goods are damaged.

Another example of credit card protection would be if you bought goods online and never received them ( this has happened to some staff at Credit Cards 121 ). The credit card company should act on your behalf to refund your cash if the company in question will not. However, re ember that until the dispute has been settled you are still liable for the debt and should make payments to your credit card company to clear the debt. However, your are liable for any interest accrued while in the process of the dispute.

For all information regarding the sales of goods act then you should refer to the Department of Fair Trading.
