"Credit card launched by Easyjet"

By admin | January 16th, 2008 | Cash Back & Rewards, Credit Cards

Budget airline Easyjet has recently announced the launch of a new credit card, which comes just in time for the holiday booking seasons, where many consumers flock to book up their holidays for the spring and summer seasons.

The credit card charges an interest rate of 16.9% on purchases, which comes in at above the average interest rate of 15%. Customers that spend at least £250 on the card in the first three months will be able to claim a free Easyjet flight to the value of £40 including taxes.

In the first three months of opening the account customers using the Easyjet credit card will also be able to enjoy getting 10% back on purchases of Easyjet flights as well as on other travel purchases such as hotels and car hire that are made when the flight is booked.

Customers can earn miles by spending on the card, with the level of miles varying depending on where the card is used. For example, customers can earn three miles for every £1 spent on Easyjet flights, two miles for every £1 spent on the card abroad, and one mile for every £1 spent in the UK.

One customer who frequently flies to Spain said that she is excited about the card and has already made her application.

She said: ‘I’m excited because I fly back to Madrid, usually with easyJet, to see family at least once every three months. Often loyalty schemes turn out to be gimmicks, but I think with this one I will really see the benefits.’

The Easyjet card will also offer nine months interest free credit on balance transfers, but this will come with a 3% balance transfer fee. However, customers should be aware that all repayments will be applied to the transferred balance first, leaving any purchase balance to accrue interest, as it will be trapped behind the transferred balance.
